High Duster Heads, Not a New Pole

Replacement heads for the pole already in the caddy. Not a telescoping-kit buying guide.

This is not a ranked list. I did not run twelve heads through a dust lab. The decision is operational: replacement heads for the pole already in the caddy — not a new telescoping kit because the refill pack was on sale.

If the spare is still clean and the pile still grabs, this is not a buy. A new pole is not a restock. A 20-pack of mixed sizes is not a restock for one person.

What to look for

Name the type. Ignore the color of the pack in the listing photo.

1. Heads that fit the pole you already own

Name the brand on the handle, then buy that head — not a prettier pole. This is the restock. A listing that “fits most wands” is a guess. Read the name on the stick you already carry, match the head, and stop. One person who already owns a high duster does not need a second telescoping kit because the aisle looked neat.

2. Washable microfiber, a 2-pack or 3-pack

Look for washable microfiber and a count you will actually finish — a 2-pack or 3-pack, not a 20-count warehouse brick. One person, one pole. Unit price on the brick is not a restock win if most of the heads sit matted in the tote.

3. Replace when the pile is matted or the sleeve will not stay on the wand

Not on a calendar if the head still grabs dust. A head that still lifts is inventory. A head that smears or slides off the wand is the buy. Do not restock because a video said “every season.” Feel the pile. Seat the sleeve. That is the count.

4. One working, one spare in a bag

A loose filthy head in the tote just redistributes last week’s dust. Carry the working head on the pole. Keep the spare sealed or in a bag, not loose against the cloths. One person, one spare. A stack of used heads under the passenger seat is not inventory — it is last week’s dust waiting for the next ceiling fan.

5. Keep it on the supply tab as a par, not a weekly burn

Put “duster head, match [pole], par 1 spare” on the supply tab. This is not a weekly burn unless you do ceiling fans every house. Raise it only if the book is high-dust every stop, then it is still par 1 spare. Do not raise par to a 20-pack because one Saturday the sleeve slipped.

What to skip

Sunday-cap note

If the spare is still clean and the pile still grabs, skip. Spend the cap on gloves or bags. Do not count a 20-pack of mixed sizes as inventory, and do not count a loose filthy head in the tote as a spare.

The Recurring Clean Book supply tab can hold “duster head, match [pole], par 1 spare.” Raise it only if ceiling fans are every house. Do not change the number forever because of one Saturday.
